Laura Colin Klein, Executive Director – Laura joined Health Advocates after a decades-long career working in leadership roles with a variety of nonprofit organizations. Most recently, she served as the Director of Volunteer Services at DOROT, an organization dedicated to addressing socialization, and prior to that, she was the Executive Director of Charity Strong, a nonprofit governance organization. Laura has an MSW from Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work and an MBA from Columbia University School of Business.
Diane L. Magnuson, Director of Development – Diane has worked in organizations of various structures and sizes, from small startups to large agencies, and is co-founder of three nonprofits. She brings a wealth of experience in fundraising and communications to her role at Health Advocates, including work with senior service organizations. Throughout Diane's diverse career she has remained committed to making the world a better place. Diane holds a Master of Public Administration degree from NYU. In her spare time, she enjoys film and reading and is considered a lay expert in geriatric cat care.
Josh Krasner, Home Safety and Fall Prevention Coordinator – – Josh has been with Health Advocates since 2022 and is passionate about making an impact, no matter how big or small. Prior to joining the organization, Josh worked in the mental health field assisting clients with housing, benefits, employment assistance, and social engagement. At Health Advocates’ Josh’s role focuses on home assessments, home modification plans, and implementation support to ensure that older adults from Health Advocates and partner agencies are able to live gracefully and safely in their own homes. Josh holds a BFA in Painting from Bard College and continues his dedication to painting during his free time.
Rosemary Bakker, Home Therapeutic Modification Director – Rosemary is a certified interior designer and gerontologist and author of AARP’s Guide to Revitalizing Your Home: Beautiful Living for the Second Half of Life (2010). During the last twenty years, Rosemary has assumed a leading role in promoting the environmental changes and smart technologies to optimize the health function, and well-being for adults age 60+. Prior to joining Health Advocates, Rosemary served on the academic staff at Weill Cornell Medical College. At Health Advocates, she oversees the Home Safety and Falls Prevention program, training and consulting with our own staff as well as social workers from partnering agencies on how to help clients create and maintain safer homes.
Patricia Baker, Office Assistant and Program Coordinator – After a career in insurance, Patricia transitioned into the nonprofit field where she has worked for many years. She currently coordinates Health Advocates’ Equipment Exchange & Donation Program and activities at the 87th Street office. Patricia also supports the volunteer program, community and fundraising events and a wide variety of administrative tasks. Patricia has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from St. John's University.
